MIDWIFERS WEEK CELEBRATION EVENT

The Midwifery Department of Munzur University's Faculty of Health Sciences organized a celebration event themed "Midwifery is Critical in Every Crisis" on April 25, 2025, at the Munzur University Congress and Culture Center as part of "National Midwives Week" (April 21-28). Attendees included Munzur University Vice Rector Nuran CIKCIKOĞLU YILDIRIM; Faculty of Health Sciences Dean Prof. Dr. Ülkü ÖZBEY; Faculty of Health Sciences Vice Dean and Head of the Midwifery Department Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nursel ALP DAL; EBEARGE Board Chair Dr. Ayşegül DÖNMEZ; UNFPA Reproductive Health Program Specialist Dr. Müge TELLİOĞLU; Munzur University Faculty Deans; faculty members and students from our university, faculty, and department; and students from the Faculty of Health Sciences. The event began with opening remarks. Opening remarks included Munzur University Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Nuran CIKCIKOĞLU YILDIRIM emphasized the importance of midwives and celebrated Midwives Week for midwives who practice their sacred profession. In her opening speech, Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences Prof. Dr. Ülkü ÖZBEY touched upon the activities of the Faculty of Health Sciences from past to present, then emphasized the critical importance of the midwifery profession during the crisis and concluded her speech with a congratulatory message for National Midwives Week. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nursel ALP DAL, Head of the Midwifery Department, touched on the meaning and importance of the day in her opening speech and delivered a congratulatory message for Midwives Week. EBEARGE Chair of the Board of Directors Dr. Lecturer Ayşegül DÖNMEZ delivered her presentation titled “Midwifery is Critical in Every Crisis.” UNFPA Reproductive Health Program Specialist Dr. Müge TELLİOĞLU delivered her presentation titled “Sustainability Development Goals and Midwifery.” Munzur University, Faculty of Health Sciences, Midwifery Department "1st Free Poetry Competition" students received their awards from the Faculty of Health Sciences, Prof. Dr. Ülkü ÖZBEY. Munzur University, Faculty of Health Sciences, Midwifery Department 3rd year students performed a theater play. Munzur University, Faculty of Health Sciences, Child Development Department faculty member Dr. Gülsüm HOŞ and musician Ali Haydar TUMAN performed a musical concert. The program concluded with a tour of the area where the models and other course materials prepared by the 4th year midwifery students as part of the "Applied Obstetrics Course" were exhibited, and commemorative photographs were taken.
